Quantifying use-wear traces through RIMAPS and Variogram Analyses

This paper presents a first approach to the study of the artefacts involved in the production of rock art engravings and try to quantify use-wear traces through RIMAPS and Variogram Analyses. The first results obtained from microwear analysis of experimental tools has allowed a characterisation of diagnostic wear traces. These image techniques permit to distinguish what kind of material has the tool worked on, for example bone or wood.
