Resumen:
The aim of this work is to present the results obtained for synthesis of nanoparticles of Pt by modified polyol method with Vulcan XC-72R as a support. Two different ways were used to synthesize catalysts: a) fixing precursor initial concentration (2mM in H2PtCl6) and adding the required amount of support to obtain different nominal loads of platinum; b) changing the precursor initial concentration to obtain altogether 10 % in wt. nominal load of platinum. Catalysts were characterized using X ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). And they were obtained with controlled particle sizes ranging between 2.2 and 6.2 nm. Nanoparticle sizes were controlled by the precursor initial concentration. It has been found that the concentration of nanoparticles formed during synthesis was the same regardless of the precursor initial concentration and the amount of carbon support.
