Polymer brushes exposed to liquid flow: cyclic motion and collective behaviour

Polymer brushes are used as protoypes of soft confining media in Microfluidics  developments. In this volume scales of picoliters and soft lithography applications the interaction of the flowing liquid with the confining walls (brush layer) are very complex and interesting, presenting dynamics of the interface and individual chains beyond the standard hydrodynamics description.We will show results of molecular dynamics simulations with dissipative particle dynamics thermostat and Kremer-Grest coarse-grained model for polymers. We focus on the dynamics of the brush moleculesand other species that can be added to the brush or be close to the interface due to the chemical specificity.
