Resumen:
Among the reproduction problems in the horse industry, the abortion is an excellent opportunity to pathology gross lesion observation and to take samples, which allow us to get closer to the real cause of the problem. Most of the observed abortion occurs after the fourth and fifth month of gestation. To know with anticipation what and how to act with the abortion enhances the chances of arriving to the final diagnostic and keep human health. Also we will talk about different possibilities in the take of complementary samples, for example waste of biological tissue and water sampling. It is a veterinary duty to do everything that it is possible to know the causes of a health animal problem. For example we have the contagious diseases, in these cases the veterinary surgeon is in a delicate position if he fails to recommend treatment, or in the animal and farm management. It is important, as well, that the veterinary knows the type of work and cost of the laboratory test. The goal of this presentation is to give technical information in the management of equine fetus necropsy with practical tips in field condition. The actual procedure of doing necropsy is one of many used by veterinary and we make no claim for the superiority over others.
