RIMAPS Analysis: a new way to study Surface Topography

Different metallic surfaces were studied using RIMAPS technique varying both the type of illumination and magnification used to acquire images. In each case the adequate combinations of illumination-magnification that allow to distinguish a surface pattern were determined. By means of this technique orientation and characteristics of surface topography can be detected within a wide range of observation conditions.
