Oxygcn isotopc results on silica samples from three sinter outcrops of the Deseado Massif arepresented he re. The &80 SMow values range from 7.3lo 20.8%o and are clearly enriched in "0 against the 1,8 tn 15,7%o values from quartz veins of the Deseado Massif. This enrichment is indicating a lower temperature of formation for sinters than deeper quartz veins. This data, together with the textural features of the sinter, are important to correctly define the origin of this deposit and therefore sinters can he used as guide for epithermal deposits exploration in the Deseado Massif.
