Resumen:
Large Toucan (Ramphastos toco) is one of 36 species belonging to the family Ramphastidae, group comprising toucans and toucanet. This group is endemic to the American forests from southern Mexico to Argentina. His near threatened status suggests 1 to 3 species are at risk. In order to achieve the reproduction giving permanence to the species, Temaikèn Biopark displays and provides data for ex situ breeding congeners. Six breeding couples were placed in Temaikèn foundation facilities. In 2010 the reproduction of species was achieved. Artificial incubation with previously established parameters was achieved.  After its birth, the pigeon was fed according to set diet protocol following diets, schedules, methods and intervals.  When the pigeon became independent, he was socialized with other juvenile members of their species. This captive breeding experience allowed us to develop artificial breeding protocols.  We consider it important to study the reproductive biology of a species of Ramfástidos providing tools that help in the future, implement breeding individuals of related species ex situ and in situ and promoting reproductive assistance to populations at risk.
