El genero Horistonotus Candeze 1860 es americano y se encuentra representado en Canadá, EUA, México, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Haití, San Vicente, República Dominicana, Panamá, Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, Brasil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina. Se conocen hasta el momento para el género 96 especies, correspondiendo a la región Neotropical, 84. Golbach en el año 1979 realiza una clave para las especies   conocidas de Argentina, incluyendo 10 especies. En 1994 cita para la Argentina 12 especies. En este trabajo se redescribe a H. canescens Steinh 1874 y a H. farinosus Candèze 1891. Se describen dos especies nuevas para la ciencia presentando importantes caracteres taxonómicos. Se cita a H. boliviensis (Schwarz) 1906 por primera vez para Argentina. El material analizado pertenece a la FIML y al SRGI. Los especimenes fueron tratados según metodología para elatéridos. Para el estudio de las estructuras genitales se siguió la metodología de Becker (1956) y la terminología de Calder (1996). Para las observaciones se utilizaron microscopio óptico y estereoscópico y se tomaron microfotografías de barrido para resaltar algunos caracteres. Con estos aportes se elevan a 15 las especies para Argentina. Se provee de una clave de determinación de adultos de las especies argentinas de  Horistonotus y un mapa con las localidades de colecta de las mismas. The genus Horistonotus Candeze 1860 is american and is represented in Canada, United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Haiti, Saint Vicent, Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brasil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. 96 species are known at this  moment for this genus, corresponding to the Neotropical region, 84. For the study of the genital structures the Becker´s methodology (1956) and the terminology of Calder (1996) were followed. For the observations we used optic and estereoscopic microscope and the microphotography of scanning for emphasize some characters. With these contributions the species known for Argentina put up to 15. It is provided  a key for adults determination of the Argentinian species of Horistonotus and a map with the localities of collects of the same ones.
