Resumen:
The neighborhood of Mataderos in Buenos Aires emerged and developed around the meat industry. For more than thirty years, the neighborhood's industrial role was questioned by certain urban transformations. Nevertheless, the reformulation of the industrial character of the neighborhood does not develop linearly but is a process in progress, characterised by stagnation, setbacks and reformulations with various and constants reorientations. There are many processes and actors with various logic, dynamics and tempos operating and disputing the development of the same urban space. In this regard, the neighborhood scale enables us to question some general and unequivocal urban trends that are usually awarded to the city of Buenos Aires as a whole, in line with global processes. Likewise,  the territorialized analysis of certain processes, brightens the network of local actors who dispute the development and definition of a sector of the city, and the various capabilities that this actors have to incide on the urban development.
