Resumen:
The acoustic control is a discipline of growing interest in industrial workplaces. In order to design acoustic solutions is necessary to make predictions of sound levels that will occur once implemented them. A new technique for predicting sound fields in rooms, called acoustic diffusion model, was proposed some years ago as described in A mathematical model of diffuse sound field based on a diffusion equation, J. Picaut et al., Acta Acust., 1997. The present paper proposes an approach that combines the classical structure of diffuse sound field theory with the acoustic diffusion model to estimate the variations of the sound pressure levels in industrial enclosures considering different acoustic characteristics. Finally, the resulting model is combined with a mathematical optimization technique to develop an optimal acoustic design.
