Resumen:
The Solar Energy Group (GES) of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) performs R&D activities on photovoltaic (PV) devices since the end of the 80’s. Part of these activities is devoted to the simulation of PV devices using different approaches. The subjects under study include optical simulation of structures associated to solar cells like silicon and III-V solar cells, numerical simulation using codes to solve the charge transport equations, and simulation of solar arrays for space applications through a code developed in the group. This paper reviews the work performed in these subjects, and particular cases are also presented.
