Resumen:
Potato (Solanumtuberosum L.) is the third most important food crop in the world. Waterdeficiency is the most frequent limitation in its production. In a climatechange scenario, it is crucial to implement strategies that promote water useefficiency (WUE), to reduce both the adverse effects of water limitations onproduction and the environmental impact of irrigation, contributing tosustainability. Abscisic Acid (ABA) is a growth regulator that controls plantdevelopment and stimulates responses to several types of abiotic stresses. TheCBP80 (Cap Binding Protein) gene modulates ABA signaling and Arabidopsisthaliana CBP80 mutant plants have been reported to show a better behaviorwhen facing water stress. The objective of our work is to produce the knockoutof CBP80 gene in potato (StCBP80), by using the CRISPR/Cas9 system
