In tumor microenvironment (TME) several cells and molecules interact, favoring tumor development. Previously we found that parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP), a cytokine from TME, promotes an aggressive phenotype in HCT116 cells from colorectal cancer (CRC) and that conditioned medium (CM) from PTHrP-treated HMEC-1 endothelial stromal cells induces epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) in CRC cells. This work aims to further study PTHrP effects on CRC and its TME. HCT116 cells were treated with the CM.
