Resumen:
Phase fieldmodels may handle problems with crack nucleation based onstrength or toughnesscriterion. To achieve accurate predictions, it isessential to enhancethe model with a critical stress parameter that can beassociated withthe order parameter of the phase field model. Thisapproach hasbeen assumed by several authors (Tanné,  Li, Bourdin, J.J. Marigo, and C. Maurini. Crack nucleation in variationalphase-field models of brittlefracture. J.Mech. Phys. Solids, 2018 ). Possible further development ofPFM for fracture resistance assessment (includingSCC problems). Additionalcrack nucleation issues (multiple materialfailure strength criteria) can beincorporated through new degradation functions and driving force terms.
