Resumen:
This study presents a comparative and diachcronic analysis of firewood management practice by hunter-gatherer in three sites (El Oriental, Alero 4 and Cormorán Quemado) in the north coast of Santa Cruz, Patagonia Argentina (open- air site and rock shelter). We will evaluate similarities and differences in fuel managment between open air (Cormorán Quemado) and rock shelter sites (El Oriental and Alero 4). We evaluate whether there were changes in fire management from middle (El Oriental) to late Holocene (Alero 4 and Cormorán Quemado). Discuss the functionality of the hearth from the taxonomic identification, the relative frequency of the charcoals, and archaeological context.
