Resumen:
An optimal EP-based treatment,i.e., a treatment based on electroporation (EP), such aselectrochemotherapy (ECT), Gene Electrotransfer (GET), orirreversible electroporation (IRE), is a function of pulse amplitude,length, number, and frequency, among other variables. Finding anoptimal function in a space of 4 parameters is a daunting task. Inprevious works, optimal GET was studied in terms of pulsenumber, through the concept of the dose-response relationship. Herewe extend those results by analyzing an optimal EP-based treatmentprotocol in terms of pulse length considering damage due totemperature and/or irreversible electroporation effects. An optimaldose-response relationship in an EP-based treatment, such as IRE, forthe range of pulse intensities with fixed pulse number and frequency,tested here, is predicted as the critical pulse length dosageyielding maximum irreversibly electroporated tissue volume withminimal damage due to temperature.p { line-height: 115%; text-align: left; orphans: 2; widows: 2; margin-bottom: 0.1in; direction: ltr; background: transparent }p.western { so-language: en-US }
