Resumen:
In the northeastern extrem of the Colangüil Cordillera, in San Juan province, crops out a volcanic sequence, which was previously assigned to the Miocene volcanism. It is composed by a lower section mainly formed by dacitic to rhyolitic lavas and tuffs, and an upper section of basandesitic lava flows. New radiometric ages correlate this sequence with Upper Oligocene-Lower Miocene arc-volcanism registred to the west in the Main Cordillera.
