This paper reflects upon conceptual labels used to build certain types of social politics. Forexample: workfare, community development programs, learnfare and CCT. As Alice O’Connorand Georg Simmel before her have extensively shown, rather than thinking of poverty assomething that prexists its social definition, this paper understands that the delimitation ofthose who society has to look after or repress or control is open to social struggle. Of coursethis doesn´t mean people don´t suffer from depravation, it means that those that will bemeaningful to society depend on the social construction of certain categories. In particular, wewill look into the delimitation of typologies of social policies. This is to say, not upon thedelimitation of population, but of the best remedies for certain evils (poverty, dependency,etc.)
