Resumen:
This work
reports results obtained in the first stages of an isotopic investigation at La
Plata and sourrounding zones. The research is being develped within the
framework of the ARCAL XII-IAEA, INGEIS contract.
Salinization
and recharge dynamic were studied by means of stable and radiactive
environmental isotopes 2-H, 18-O,3-H y 14-C as well as chemical analyses.
Isotopic results evidence more than one origin
salinization, acording the chemical type of water involved: 1) brackish waters
resulting of the mixture of fresh Puelche or Pampeano groundwaters and variable
contribution of the Río de La Plata with sea type waters found in the low
plain; 2) mainly sulfated waters that could be recharge in the low plain, which
sulfate content cold be explained as resulting of sulfur redox processes; 3)
waters salinized only by leaching during their flow. Carbon-14 and tritium
nalysis allowed to determine the relative age of several samples and throw some
light on the aquifer dynamic in the unsaturated and saturated zones
