Resumen:
The western Precordillera mafic- ultramafic belt partly consists of mafic granulites (layered gabbros)retrograded to greenschist facies metamorphism. The compositionally homogeneous high- gradeassemblage suggests that granulites have reached temperatures of ~880ºC. Whereas the low- grademineral association indicates a retrogradation to greenschist facies with a high pressure componentevidenced by the presence of phengite.
