Resumen:
The variability and heterogeneity of the leachates produced in landfills have led to the application of AOPs as complementary stages to achieve an adequate treatment. In the Fenton process, a widely applied AOP in leachate treatment, the influence of common variables such as pH, temperature, or reagent ratios is relatively well known. This research explores the influence of other variables of high technological interest such as agitation, settling, antifoam addition, nature of the acidifying substance, reagent quality, and methodology of H2O2 addition, evaluating their influence on the reduction of COD as a global decontamination parameter. The results indicate that several of the studied operational variables can be managed allowing to achieve a process with the lowest costs without loss in the treatment efficiency.
