Resumen:
This chapter explores the encounter of two subject positions: beinga migrant, being a woman. Current foreigness is increasengly a matter of concern as far as is resembles the situation of the statelessness described by Hannah Arendt. The so-called ?feminization of migrations? is a well-established fact. It refers to the increasing number of women involved in international migration since the nineties but more interestengly, to describe recent shifts in their roles. On the other hand, the position of woman and the struggle against the pathriarcal system has gained greater attention in the last years and particularly in Latin-American countries under the?No One Less? slogan and other trends that feminized the political agenda. Feminist scholars such as Dorothy Smith has argued, in fact, that the ?women?s standpoint? is a port of entry to explore other oppressions since women are a sort of oppressed subject by definition. In this context, what happens when the position of such an oppresed butpowerful subject encounters that feminized mobility? Under this framework, the aim of this contribution is to provide a framework to understand the political position (by Understanding ?political position? in terms of belonging and subjectivity) of migrant women, migrantas, in our contemporary Latin-American democracies.
