Resumen:
This paper aims to qualify and quantify the properties, in general, and acoustic isolation, in particular, of new construction systems. These systems use mix of traditional and alternative masonry materials in Tucumán, Argentina. Its goals are: a) to investigate, identify and catalog alternative masonry; b) to check their uses in mix construction systems with traditional masonry available in the local context, c) to evaluate these systems according to: its construction process, its energy cost, its economical price its physical, technological and sound insulation properties; d) to compare both of them. A ?methodological strategy of ?Participatory Action Research? was carried out to reach the objectives. The results achieved were: a) a good deal of alternative masonry were found, many of them are used as it raw material, urban and industry wastes; b) the identified masonry can beused in new constructive mix systems and they can achieve a good acoustic isolation; c) these new construction systems are able to use by the population. The conclusions obtained were: a) it is necessary to generate population and industry awareness; b) proposal masonry and systems need to get use in the construction market. c) In addition, of the acoustical benefits for users, these systems contribute to achieve sustainable and healthy habitat.
