Resumen:
The feasibility of the improving the densities of Fe based magnetic composites by means of composition control and liquid phase sintering, LPS is analyzed and correlated with their magnetic performance. The first task is performed employing mixtures of Fe with Ferro-P pressed (at 700 MPa). The LPS are made at temperatures chosen from dilatometric determinations composition (1050-1100 C), in the neighbourhood of binary Fe-P eutecticcomposition, and under dry hydrogen flux. The resulting density seems to increase with Fe-P contents, up to 90 % of full density a-Fe. The corresponding grain and inter-granular phase distribution are analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) and X-ray diffraction. The magnetic performance as a function of the density is analyzed, and the magnetic parameters were obtained using a homemade vibrating sample magnetometer. The results show that Fe density improves with LPS, when the shrinkage isup to 1.5 %.
