Resumen:
The clinical pharmac okinetics o f anticancer drugs have been stud ied for over five decades, as reflecte d by many excell ent scientif ic repor ts on different aspects in the fie ld [1 31]. Older reports were based on the descrip tion of different method s to optim ize the therape utic scheme for transl a-tion into clini cal prac tice. In additio n, patients with different patholog ical condi tions were identified to best adju st the dosage regim en of the anticancer treatment according to their physiological and pathological conditions [10,19 ] . Some of thes e populations include patients with renal or liver failure and obese patients [23 25 ,27,28,32 35] . Other repor ts have descr ibed the pharmac okine tic behavior of antineo plastic agents by grouping them based on data obtaine d from either clinical or research studies. All these studies acknowl edge the need for individual ized do sage regimens using TDM in oncolo gy, mainl y based on the relations hip betwee n pharmac okine tic para meters of drug exposure (AUC or C max ) and clini cal endpoi nts, such as safe ty or eff icacy (pharm acodyn amics) [31,35 38] .Nonethe less, these reports also comme nted on the difficul ties of performi ng TDM.
