Resumen:
Atad (MT ´atad) is the name of the place where the funeral procession bringing the body of Jacob from Egypt to Canaan for burial observed seven days of mourning (Gen 50 : 10-11). The site is called goren ha´atad, variously translated as "threshing floor of Atad" (NRSV), "threshing-floor of the bramble," "Thornfloor" or simply Goren-ha-Atad.
