This paper analyzes the: adequateness site; control and avail environmental resources: sun, earth, vegetation and knowledge; sanitary and habitat conditions improvement; confort; local process rescue for the housing production with tradicional resources; modern industrialized elements use. All of this to develop new and efficients solutions. This work is developed inside the Project FAU-SeCyT, UNT ? CONICET ?Estrategias y Tecnologías para un Hábitat Sostenible y Saludable?. It is a comparative and relational study in two rural areas: Balderrama y Colalao del Valle, in Tucumán, Argentina. The Participative Action Research is used in order to be aware of those places?s reality and to transform it. The activities devoloped are: 1) Identification and characterization of the work area; 2) Identification of the architectural and technologic resources using in the popular rural housing production; 3) Systematization and comparison of the information obtained; 4) Identification of the environmental, functional, technologic, morphologic, social, economic and energetic variables which define the bioclimatic adequateness of a tipical house; 5) Relation between these variables. This research will permit formulate paterns and strategies to orientate the rural production housing for the zones in question and it will improve the life quality of these communities.
