Resumen:
Classic zooarchaeological analyzes focused on economic aspects to interpret subsistence strategies and the characterization of the diet of past populations. More recently, the need to incorporate the interdisciplinary study on the perception that various current human groups have of nature and how these perceptions affect the uses, management and appropriation that societies make of natural resources is beginning to be glimpsed. Herefore, we welcome the incorporation of a discussion table in Archaeozoology in the III Jornadas Argentinas de Etnobiología y Sociedad (JAES) held in November 2021 in the city of La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina). We present a journey through the experiences of zooarchaeological work presented in the III JAES, from different regions of Argentina that integrate different approaches to contribute to the interpretation of sociocultural practices, highlighting the continuity between past and present. Inter and transdisciplinary approaches are fundamental for zooarchaeological studies to understand the links that human societies build with animals. In this sense, the papers presented are deepening the questions and expanding the theoretical and methodological strategies on the archaeozoological record, beyond those related to diet and subsistence of past groups.
