In this chapter, I aminterested in thinking about beaches as gendered, complex, public, andpolitical spaces.  I will show that the large influx of visitors generatesa temporary spatial-temporal configuration. During this time, there arepossibilities for new forms of visibility, working, and settling or exposingconflicts publicly. The chapter will develop two cases: ambulant vending andthe disputes between beach users during the summer season. In the first case, Iam interested in showing beaches as a place of work. I will show that vendorsmust negotiate their presence with other actors. This leads to a dispute overspace and the (il)legality of the activity. I am interested in showing that beachtime amplifies local disputes and conflicts in the second case. To do this,I take a significant case: el tetazo (the big boob), which occurred in2017. This local conflict became a national one.  Showing the differentprocesses that happen on the beaches allows us to understand the constructionof social and urban order based on the use of public space at each time.
