Resumen:
Habitat degradation it’s a hazard for global biodiversity. Specifically, amphibians’populations have been declining for the last 30 years worldwide, a phenomenon that can bepartially explain by extension agriculture and the high rate of application of pesticides itrequires. Moreover, pesticides are often applied in the form of mixtures, which interact andaffect non-target organisms in different ways, altering their survival and fitness. The Pampasregion of Argentina has not been exempted of this situation, and studies involvingamphibians and mixture of pesticides have increased in the last decades. Most of thesestudies have been performed in laboratory conditions employing Rhinella arenarum, acommon and ubiquitous toad of the region, and only one work has been performed in fieldconditions evaluating mixtures of commonly employed pesticides in four species. Differentinteractions were detected among the mixture’s studies, observing variations amongformulations employed, developmental stages of individuals exposed and time of exposure. This highlights the importance of continuing to study the most employed mixtures togetherwith native fauna in order to minimise negative effects on biota.
