Resumen:
The lockdown by COVID-19 generated a negative psychological impact on adolescents. However, not all of them reported the same levels of emotional instability, anxiety, anger, frustration, and depressive symptoms. In this chapter, we explore how individual differences in coping with stressful situations and the ability to regulate emotions are helpful in understanding the emotional and social impact on adolescents during lockdown. In the same way, we describe how the lack of face-to-face social contact becomes a limitation for emotional regulation at this age, considering that the peer group works as a co-regulator of emotional states and a source of learning emotional and social competencies. In this sense, we resume a dynamic and bidirectional model between individual differences and interpersonal relationships to analyze the psychological effect of lockdown on adolescents.
