Structural determination of polysaccharide systems biosynthesized by red seaweeds from the Argentine marine littoral has been the investigation target of our laboratory during the last 40 years. Together with the development of varied techniques, which culminated in the elucidation of the fine structure, interdisciplinary collaborations with biologists and biochemists allowed to frame our results into a wider and enriched context.
