Cervids have a seasonal reproduction so it is important to consider those changes in male reproductive physiology in order to improve the optimal moment to obtain and storage deer sperm in genetic resources banks. Fallow deer Dama dama was used as a biological model. The purpose was to study the concentration of testosterone in serum, the seasonally deer semen quality during the brama and post-brama, sperm morphology and functional parameters of cryopreserved fallow deer sperm. Seminal material was obtained by electroejaculation. Free testosterone was determined by the method of calculation from RIA and SHBG and total testosterone was obtained by the chemiluminescence method. Capacitation and acrosome reaction were evaluated by chlorotetracycline epifluorescence technique (CTC) and acrosome integrity and viability by Trypan blue stain/DIC.
