This investigation goal was to determine Trkreceptors localization in pig’s secondary lymphatic organs (spleen, lymphnodules, tonsils and Peyer´s patches). Samples from youngpigs (n=20) were fixed in 10% buffered formaldehyde and processedby routine histological techniques. Trks proteins were labeledwith rabbit polyclonal antibodies diluted 1:100 (Santa CruzBiotechnology, CA, USA), employing the immunocytochemistryavidine-biotine-peroxidase method (ABC).Spleen: TrkA and TrkB were localized in white pulp and in bloodvessels inside lymphoid follicles. Trk C was identified in capsule, trabecules, and lymphoid tissue of red pulp.Lymphnodules follicles: TrkC was found in cortical lymphoid tissueand capsule. TrkA and TrkB had negative immunoreactivity.Palatine tonsils: TrkA and TrkC were identified in stroma follicleswhile TrkB was negative.Peyer‘s patches: TrkA and TrkC were shown in lymph folliclescenter, TrkB showed negative immunoreactivity. We conclude that TrkA and TrkC studied expression in pig’s secondarylymphatic organs would indicate the probably action of NGFand NT-3 growing factors, while TrkB, was identified only in spleen, this would suggest a possible role of BDNF and NT-4/5 as growingfactors in this organ, for maintenance of cellular populations.
