Resumen:
Isobutylmethylketone diperoxide (3,6-diisobutyl-3,6-dimethyl-1,2,4,5-tretraoxacyclohexane,DPMBC) has been prepared by reaction of isobutyl ketone, hydrogen peroxide (30%) andsulfuric acid (70 %) at 15 ° C. This compound has been identified by GC/MS analysis andusing its retention data in Temperature Programmed Gas Chromatography.Some comparison related with the reactivity, thermodynamic parameters and retention indexcan be done with its isomer, the cyclic diperoxide derived from terbutylmethylketone.On the other hand, the thermal decomposition reaction of DPMBC has been studied in lightpetroleum ether from 130.0 to160.0 ° C.
