The General Decision-Making Style Inventory has beenvalidated with samples from several countries, but there are noreports about its validity in Latin American countries. In thisstudy we assessed the underlying structure of the GDMSI ina sample from Argentina and compared a confirmatory factoranalysis (CFA) model with a more flexible model that combinesexploratory and confirmatory parts, the exploratory structuralequation modeling (ESEM) approach. In general, the resultssupport the construct validity of the GDMSI and confirm thepotential and superiority of the ESEM procedures to assess therelationship between the items and the underlying dimensions,compared to more restrictive models.
