Resumen:
People are very familiar with northern hemisphere crab fisheries, to the point where there is a popular TV series about them (Deadliest Catch). However, king crab fisheries in the southern hemisphere are almost unknown, although they have many of the characteristics that have made northern fisheries famous: remote fishing areas, rough and cold seas, bad weather, and a resource of high economic value. Here, we review the history of southern king crab fisheries in the ?end of the world? and describe the current fishery in Patagonia.
