Resumen:
A study was carried out on the effects of water stress in the quantity, morphology and distribution of epicuticular wax in two weeping lovegrass cultivars of differing degrees of drought tolerance.Using gravimetry and scanning electron microscopy it was possible to establish that the quantityof epicuticular wax on leaves increseswhen the plants are submitted to drought conditions. this increase was marked in cv. Morpa, which in less tolerant to water stress. However, the epicuticular wax content in normally watered plants of this cultivar is lower than those of the resistant cv. Don Eduardo. A change was also observed in the wax crystal morphology under these conditions
