Resumen:
Achyrocline flaccida is a shrub that grows in Northeastern Argentina. It is known in folk medicine by the common names of "marcela", "marcela macho" and it was said that this plant has antispasmodic, stimulant, emenagogue and antihelmintic properties. This plant was investigated for its antibacterial and antifungal activity and we report the detection of the compounds responsible against Bacillus subtilis, Micrococcus luteus and Staphylococcus aureus.
