Resumen:
The infrared and Raman spectra of the Cu(II) complex of picolinic acid (Hpic), of stoichiometry [pic)2].2H2O were recorded and discussed by comparison with those of the free acid on the basis of Cu(its known  structural data. The electrochemical properties of thecomplex were investigated in dimethylformamide solutions by cyclic voltammetry. The results show that its reduction occurs through a quasi-reversible one electron process, generating a Cu(I) species.
