Resumen:
Microremains of three agricultural terraces from the first millenium A.D. in the AmbatoValley (Southern Andes, Catamarca, Argentina) were analyzed. Starch grains, stomatocystsof chrysostomataceae, sponge spicules, diatoms, microcharcoals, sporomorphs and phytolithswere counted in order to determine whether these elements could help to the characterization ofthese terraces. The results, with emphasis on the detail of phytoliths and starch grains, allowedestablishing compositional trends that distinguish the contribution of cultivated and wild/ruderalgrasses and the possibility of the presence of crops that do not produce phytoliths. The analyzedpedosequences showed blend microremain compositions in many cases that did not permit toestablish differential levels between associations of the same profile.
