Resumen:
A set of vegetable macro-remains found at CuevaEl Abra archaeological site is analyzed. This is arock shelter which top component has been datedin 958±32 AP. It presents diagnostic Late Holocenematerials, raw materials and goods that indicateextra-regional contacts. Thirteen whole endocarps ofarchaeological peach, one of them with heat traces, and four halves, three carbonized, were analyzed. Allwere recovered in the same sector of the cave aroundan iron pot containing remains of a child?s shoe anda horse?s bone over the mouth, as covering it. Alongit were four bases of gin stoneware bottles, differentin size and color, dyed by a black patina, apparentlysoot. The presence of endocarps of Prunus persica(L.) Batsch. in a modern context of Cueva El Abrasite is the first material evidence of the use of this fruitby rural villagers who lived in the late nineteenth andearly twentieth centuries. Due to the characteristicsof the finding, one might conclude that the completelypeach endocarps found in Cueva El Abra, could bepart of a ritual episode.
