Oxygen consumption on random samples of male crabs, at five different temperatures (5, 11, 15, 20 and 25 ºC) has been measured in improved respirometers, designed for the particular size and feautres of the specimens. By the use of statistic correlations, several expressions are proposed, relating the rate of O2 consumption with the wet weight, for each of the above mentioned temperatures. Models that relate the former rate with the wet weight and temperature for each species, are discussed and compared with results obtained by other authors. Q10 values for each temperaure range have been calculated, finding different responses in the interspecific comparison. The mathematic expression of Q10 has been performed and applied in agreement with correlation found between O2 consumption and temperature.
