Resumen:
The extraction of naringin, a flavonoid from Citrus paradisi L. peels, was evaluated through the supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) as an alternative to conventional methods. This method presents good extraction yields, showing values higher than those of  maceration and close to those of the reflux and Soxhlet methods. Furthermore, SFE consumes less solvent and allows easy removal of the solvent and a shorter extraction time. Different organic solvent as modifiers of the supercritical CO2 were used. The efficiency of the extraction from the plant material was compared using dry and fresh peels. The best conditions for the extraction of naringin using supercritical fluid (SF) are performed with CO2 modified with 15% ethanol and fresh peels.
