Resumen:
We present a versatile diagram to envisagethe dominant relaxation mechanism of single-domainmagnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) under alternatingmagnetic fields, as those used in magnetic fluidhyperthermia (MFH). The diagram allows estimatingthe heating efficiency, measured by the Specific PowerAbsorption (SPA), originated in the magnetic andviscous relaxation times of single-domain MNPs for agiven frequency of the ac magnetic field (AFM). Thediagram has been successfully applied to differentcolloids, covering a wide variety of MNPs withdifferent magnetic anisotropy and particle size, anddispersed in different viscous liquid carriers. From thegeneral diagram, we derived a specific chart based onthe Linear Response Theory in order to easily estimatethe experimental condition for the optimal SPA valuesof most colloids currently used in MFH.
