Resumen:
The aim of our study is to identify individual and area-level determinants of non-adherence to TB treatment, and explore how the relationship between these two levels affect the issue, through a hierarchical factor analysis in selected districts of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. Thus, this study aims to contribute new knowledge to improve strategies to control tuberculosis, since specific information on situations of higher risk of treatment dropout allow the National TB Control (NPTB) adoption of appropriate surveillance measures. Following the principles expressed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Commission on the Social Determinants of Health, this study is an effort of commitment to the value of equity and evidence based approach for understanding and action.
