Resumen:
We study the photoemission spectra of the hydrogen molecular ion forvarious geometrical arrangements. For different angles between theinternuclear axis and the polarization vector, we calculate the angulardistribution and analyze the results in terms of the symmetries andpartial-wave contributions to the spectra. Contrary to previous studieswe find that the angular distribution is not aligned with theinternuclear axis or the polarization vector. The alignment isdetermined by the coherent superposition of σ→σ andσ→π transition amplitudes and by the relativecontributions from the different partial waves, strongly dependent onthe photoelectron energy.
