Resumen:
Transition amplitudes and probabilities are the basic quantities ofnumerous theoretical approaches for the interpretation of collisionalprocesses. These quantities are often evaluated from the transitionmatrix via Fourier transformation. However, a modification of the axialsymmetry of the collision has sometimes been introduced to simplify thecalculation. The present study shows that such a simplification is ingeneral not justified and a source of highly unrealistic results. Thisis demonstrated in studies of single and double ionization of helium byion impact.
