Resumen:
Two new polynuclear thiosaccharinate complexes of silver(I) or copper(I), hexakis(thiosaccharinate)hexasilver(I), and tetrakis(thiosaccharinate)tetracopper(I), are synthesized. The silver complex is prepared in different solvents by the reaction of Ag(I) salts and thiosaccharin. The complex is built as nanometric hexanuclear units as is shown by the X-ray diffraction analysis. The Ag(I) atoms conform an octahedron and are held together by six tri-coordinated thiosaccharinate anions, having the molecular structure [Ag6(tsac)6] (tsac: thiosaccharinate anion). The copper complex is prepared by reduction of Cu(II) salts with the heterocyclic thioamide itself, in different solvents. The X-ray diffraction analysis of the complex, crystallized in acetonitrile, shown a substance built by tetranuclear units with four Cu(I) nucleus bridged by thiosaccharinate anions as tridentate ligands, having the molecular structure [Cu4(tsac)4(CH3CN)2]. The new complexes are characterized by FT-IR, Raman, UV-visible and NMR spectroscopy. Conductivity and elemental chemical analysis data are also show.
