Thus, another strategy, based on the coupled action of two whole cell biocatalyzed reactions, transglycosylation and deamination, was used. Enterobacter gergoviae and Arthrobacter oxydans were employed to synthesize 9-b-D-arabinofuranosylguanine (AraG), an efficient anti leukemic drug.
